Annotation

Annotation

You can open the Annotation window by pressing F9, or by going to the Picturenote menu by clicking on the icon in the left corner.

There are three kinds of annotation objects that can be created: Text, Rectangular Boxes and Arrows.

Start by capturing something in the PictureNote window. When you start the annotation window, it will automatically capture at that point if it hasn't already captured something.

Let's insert some Text.

Enter some text in the box.

We have Bold and Shadow effects, which we will usually need on because we want to make sure we can see the text on the picture image and have it stand out.

When you press the Add Text button, the text object will appear in the upper left corner of our PictureNote image.

Now, you can drag the text object to wherever you want it on the image. Just click on it to select it, and grab and drag it to where you want it.

An object is selected when you see little square "handles" appear around it. Only one text object, box, arrow can be selected at a time. When you select one, the others are deselected.

Now, we want to make a box around a section of the image.

When you press the Add Box button it will put a square box in the upper left of the image.

We can do the same here. We can select it and move it around to where we want it. To drag it, we need to grab one of the three lines on the right.

If we want to se-size the rectangle so it better fits around what we want to show, you grab one of the four highlighted corners of the rectangle and drag it around.

The rectangle will now snap and re-shape to those four corners.

We can now add an Arrow.

Pressing the Add Arrow button will add an arrow to the

You can drag the ends of the arrow around by the two handles on the end, or drag the whole thing by dragging the stem.

You can change the attributes of the objects any time after you make them.

You can't change the letters in the text, but you can change all the other text attributes just by selecting the attribute item. You can change color, size, bold, shadow and font.

In the same way you can change boxes and arrows - select and change attribute.

You can delete any object by selecting it and pressing the delete button.

You must highlight the object you want to change in order to apply the change.

You can deselect all items by left clicking in the window. Arrows must be deselected by right-clicking in the window.

You can have any number text objects, but boxes and arrows are limited to 20 each.

Saving the image.

When you send to clipboard, save to file or print, the annotation objects will be put into the image just as they appear to you, but as long as you haven't pressed the reset button, the objects will still be movable and changeable within PictureNote.

They won't go away until you press the reset button and clear the image.
