Editing Tools

If you press the Mouse Tool button (at #1 on the picture), whenever you move the mouse in the plot window, the actual machine coordinates of the mouse position will be displayed on the status bar on the bottom.(at #3)

If a tool picture is loaded, the tool will move around with the mouse at the same time.

The other buttons on the CAM Toolbar are similar and give other methods of obtaining program positions.

Insert Buttons

The buttons at position #2 on the picture are the Insert Buttons.

Pressing these buttons will insert the coordinates obtained from the CAM Tool buttons into the editor line that the cursor is on. If there is already an address value it will replace it, otherwise it will add it.

With these you can modify or create programs by obtaining the program coordinates from the CAD file.

Tips

The Find-Replace search normally does not search into comments in the NC program unless the "Include in Comments" box is checked.

You can search for the last Find string again by pressing F5.

Inplot will automatically save the last saved version of the editor file to a backup file with the extension ".bak" when Configuration-Editor-Save Backup Files is checked.

If you have programs that have numbers where decimal points are optional, you interpret them correctly by the format settings in Configuration-Format.

You can turn on and off the gutter in the editor for setting Breakpoints by the right mouse popup menu.

When printing the plot window, Inplot normally sends color information to the printer. If you prefer just black and white lines, you can check Configuration-Screen-Print Monochrome.

With "Mirror CAD for Lathe" checked in Configuration-Screen, you can draw only one half of the part and it will be automatically mirrored to fill in the other half of the part.

When plotting with a picture of a ball endmill, you may have to change Configuration-Screen-Plot Ball Mill to tip or center settings to look right in the Z depth.

The editor does not show going through the lines of a subprogram unless Configuration-Plotting-Step Subs is checked.
